Look One draws inspiration from the costumes of the characters Damiel and Cassiel in the film "Wings of Desire," who observe Berlin clad in long coats. The pleated wing and white lining subtly reference their angelic identities, concealed beneath their human exteriors.
The trench coat's two-toned, double-faced cotton twill echoes the compositional works of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, playing on the theme of similarly colored rectangular shapes that overlap and interact. This inspiration continues with the invisibly topstitched pocket and the oversized pocket flap.
Additionally, the look incorporates Bauhaus elements through metallic details on the ends of the coat bands, directly referencing the "Stahl Rohr" (Steel Rod), a Bauhaus innovation often associated with classic furniture design.
