The coat includes a stretched strap of black calf leather, a design element inspired by an experiment with chair draping. This leather strap stretches between two steel rods sewn into the side seams, a nod to the construction methods seen in Bauhaus designs like Marcel Breuer's Wassily chair and Mies Van Der Rohe's MR10 chairs.

The front of the coat again incorporates a steel rod, which allows the leather to wrap around the steel, securing the jacket closed.
